Rumors are abound the MMO community right now as to whether or not EQ2’s Senior Producer, Scott Hartsman aka Gallenite, is leaving SoE.

A surprising rumor regarding EQ2’s Senior Producer, Scott Hartsman aka Gallenite, is spreading across various MMOG forums claiming that he has parted ways with SOE. What makes this rumor noteworthy and more than likely veritable is that it originates from the administrator who runs EQ2 Flames, one of the more popular EQ2 fan forums.

Scott has been with SoE for 6 years now, starting out on EverQuest: Shadows of Luclin (Dec 2001). If the rumours are true he will be missed greatly by the Everquest community.

In celebration of our wonderfully full stomachs from yesterday’s turkey dinner, we have decided to dedicate this evening’s show to Fowl in-game. Now, there really aren’t many turkeys to be found inside typical gaming, but there are lots of chicken!

So this show is to be 3 hours of talk about chicken and the occasional turkey from within the games.

The hot topic this week is of course, the delay of the PC shipment of Wings of the Goddess. For those of you out there stuck with no expansion or no registration code, kill some time by tuning in to The Mog House!

We’ll be going over the Fan Festival, where we totally phailed to broadcast live. After the first music break, we will have a special guest that many know from both Allakhazam and BlueGartr, CactuarSensei or Elmer the Pointy. We’re excited to have him on to talk to him about the expansion which goes live today. It’s sure to be a great show so listen live from 6 PM to 9 PM PST!

Final Fantasy XI’s 4th expansion, Wings of the Goddess, has gained an incredibly level of anticipating for their release which is slotted for the a live-launch of November 22nd. According to their press release, which was sent out in late September, the game’s launch to stores is supposed to be simultaneous for all platforms, PC, XBox 360, and the Playstation 2, with the press release even going so far as to say that the boxes are being shipped so they are arriving at retailer’s warehouses on November 20th so the stores can stock their shelves to begin selling the game on the 21st - 1 day before official release.

It appears that the game’s distribution centers have messed up again with retailers reporting an updated release date being the 22nd for sales of the PC version of this expansion. For many, this is yet another strike against Square Enix and what appears to be preferential treatment towards of those who are console gamers vs. PC gamers.

Many gamers in the United states were planning on using some of their holiday time playing this game, and that might still hold true for console gamers, but unfortunately PC gamers are being singled out again and won’t be able to get their hands on the software to play until the day after.

If retailers still do not have the software in their inventory by tomorrow, the 21st, this might mean an even longer delay for the PC version of this expansion due to Thanksgiving putting a hold on all shipping and receiving for the holiday. Perhaps Square Enix and their retailers should discontinue the practice of making preorders available since they cannot seem to coordinate with distribution centers in an industrial timely manner.

San Diego, CA November 19, 2007 – The San Diego chapter of the United States Marine Corps Reserve Toys for Tots Program today announced the 2007 Holiday Toy Drive schedule of events. The organization has teamed up with a variety of local companies this year including the Chargers, Wal-Mart and Sony Online Entertainment. Collection events will kick-off in November and conclude with the 18th Annual Chargers Toy Drive at their home game on December 16th.The Marine Corps Reserve Toys for Tots Program is a nonprofit charity which collects new, unwrapped toys and distributes them to needy children in the community as Christmas presents. The toys are collected by Reserve Marines at various community fundraisers and civic functions, sorted according to age and gender, and then distributed to local social and welfare agencies, churches and civic organizations. In 2006, the Toys for Tots program in the San Diego area collected 171,125 toys reaching more than 49,000 children.

This year, the Marine Corps Reserves has set a goal of collecting more than 185,000 toys to reach at least 53,000 underprivileged children in the San Diego community. While the Marine Reserves organize, coordinate and manage the nonprofit charity program, the ultimate success depends on the support of the local community and the generosity of the people who donate toys.
