Unfortunately, last week’s attempt to get a Starcraft game failed, fell, and bombed in the beginning and middle of the show. After, we tried gunbound, but several of us weren’t even receiving authentication emails to get into the game, and instead we moved over to playing the free version of Disney’s Pirates of the Caribbean. Incredibly fun game, and we’ll talk more about that later. Tonight will be try #2 for The Ravecast. The hosts of the show, Leonai_art and Luxx have things set and ready for an amazingly fun night of gaming as the last in-game party of 2007.

I had a startling discovery today as I was browsing through my documents. I found an article that I had written back in 2004 when I worked for the belated OGaming.com. Up until just now, I had recalled starting in the business of gaming coverage in 2004, but now I know that I’ve been off by a year. I, in fact, started doing this in 2003, as that article is approximately a year after my starting date.

It’s a pretty fun read, and since OGaming.com no longer exists, there is no way for me to link to the original posting itself, so instead, I shall include the article here. Thank you for stopping by. I hope you enjoy a little glimpse into my past.

Flying in a Post 9/11 World

The joys of flying in post 9/11 are definitely worth the effort to truly appreciate. From one flaming hoop to another, the joys and excitement invoke raptures to even the youngest of hearts.

Our misfortunes have brought about a new revolution where feet may walk freely from the constraints of shoes while passing by special security! Disrobing is not only permitted, it’s requested when going near the security conveyer belt. Your clothing and shoes are safely tucked into grey/blue bins and whisked away on this 19th century technology. Ever wish to perform experiments with negative film? Take a few pictures, pop them into your pockets, and have it drawn through the security screening x-ray. Vwalla, you have instantly fried negatives. Go develop them to see if you have swirly colors! As republished on Gamasutra, Online retailer Amazon.com recently announced that Wii systems were among its top-selling items in 2007, and sales of the console helped make the year its most profitable one to date.

Amazon said it sold about 17 Wiis per second when the product was in stock. Additionally, the retailer noted that along with Wii sales, its best-selling video games, Super Mario Galaxy and Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare, were top sellers in its entire video games and hardware division.

In PCs, the top sellers included Apple MacBook, Nokia Internet Tablet PC and HP Pavilion Entertainment Notebook PC, Amazon also highlighted.

The strongest day of holiday sales for Amazon was December 10th, on which customers ordered 62.5 items pers second for a total of 5.4 million items. On its peak shipping day, the retailer shipped products internationally to more than 200 countries, moving more than 3.9 million shipments.
