Beginning - at the beginning - part 2

January 18th, 2008 by Leonai |

Character creation - some games start with only a few choices, while others give you a world of choices which sucks you into several hours of custom creation and the many varieties of potentials. Many games have you choose classes, races, and add statistical information to your characters initial attributes, while others just go with the general story-arch including locations and their underlying story, deities, and character alignment, etc.

A Tabula Rasa Experience

January 16th, 2008 by Leonai |

Tabula RusaI’ve heard an incredible amount of surprise from many over their enjoyment of Tabula Rasa. Something compelled them to try the game against their jaded outlook on what the game will likely entail, and they ended up having their MMO perspective taken right out from underneath them similar to how a person loses their perch resulting in a water-dunking, after someone threw a well aimed baseball towards the target at the local fair.

With all of these surprised gamers, you would think that I would see more articles regarding the game - but everything that I’ve read up until now has been much the same - almost like someone describing what is in the informational press release after reading it too often.

For those of you who have noticed the same thing, I’d like to point your direction towards a recent blog regarding the game which will give you a good variation and twist upon the information and excitement towards Tabula Rasa.

AFK in the Battlegrounds and get BANNED

January 15th, 2008 by Leonai |

I’m talking about within World of Warcraft.

A recent post by Bornakk, the community manager for World of Warcraft at Blizzard, includes an update to the game which is causing quite the stir within the player community.

The word out on the street is:

Wait - what?! I AFK and my account is now BANNED? WTF^^!

But there is more to it than that. After asking some who have frustrated experiences and are hailing this update as godsent - or happy developer sent, as the case may be - I’m discovering this to actually be a good thing, not a bad one - this should be embraced with the same fervor as the banning of farmers.

SOE Station Access information

January 15th, 2008 by Leonai |

Aaron “Gnobrin” Bisnett - the EverQuest 2 community manager at Sony Online Entertainment, just sent out an alert with information regarding the Station Access.

With personal access and the ability to play several SOE games upon a whim, I very much enjoy having the full access, and it being coupled with their new station launcher, makes life easy, smooth, and with very few kinks or bumps in the road where it comes to my MMO Gaming experience.
