RaveCast - Pi Day - “Topic: CHATSTUFFS!”

March 14th, 2008 by Luxx |

So its March… still. Oh and hey, it’s Friday once again! That means it’s time for some RaveCast with Leonai_art and Luxx!

“T.G.I.F.” amirite? Eheh… eh… *nervous cough*

Leonewhead Luxx
Topic-o-the-night: In-game communication - text chat. Remember what the internet was like before chatrooms? Yeah, me neither.Anyway, now they’re like… all the rage and stuff. Chat channels. All the kids are doing it. Apparently even on their cellphones they have devised a crude and frustrating method of chatting that involves hand cramps and annoying the crap out of the people you’re around when your phone plays crappy music and vibrates every two seconds. I guess they call it “text messaging”. Just the other night my daughter Ghanima Thursday Capacitor III was asking me in her adorable German accent: “pa’pa, when can I have ze text mezzagings on mein cell?”

I grounded her for a week. No daughter of mine with an obscure name is getting text messages! They are a path to curiosity. Curiosity leads to disappointment, disappointment leads to regret, and regret is a path to the Dark Side. I know that doesn’t really make sense but in fact… it seems to me like just about everything is a path to the Dark Side. Which is why I keep Ghanima Thursday Capacitor III in her hamster bubble despite her turning 14 next month. Ahh, how they grow, right?

Of course the hamster bubble itself is also a possible path to the Dark Side, but with training she has come to enjoy it. Not love it, mind you… love is a path… well you know.

March 7th, 2008 by Kira |

Rock and Roleplay has finally and hopefully fixed the connection issues and we will be back on the air this week! E. Gary Gygax had a literally immeasurable impact on countless lives. This very show, nay, WEBSITE, would almost certainly not be coming to you if not for his efforts to bring RPGs to the world. He will be missed, truly, but his presence among us is eternal. Roll some dice, have some fun, and remember the Great Dungeon Master with us this Saturday, as we will be taking a look at his contributions to gaming

So Join Kira and Drue as they give a fond and final farewell to this great man.
