New Attitude: The goodbye girl
by Julie Whitefeather
Why is it that there are times when we just can’t say goodbye - no, not to a person but to a game. Yet there are other times when we can’t get away from a game fast enough. New Attitude: “Who is this Joker?”
Love them or hate them, they make the game interesting. Without them, to quote another villain, Dracula (as portrayed by George Hamiliton) our games would be about “as interesting as Bucharest on a Monday night.” This week New Attitude looks at the villain.

Kickin’ it old school…by Julie Whitefeather
There are lot definitions that come to mind when someone says “old school.” One of the more unusual ones I have ever heard or read was the following:
“Cannibal, n. A gastronome of the old school who preserves the simple tastes and adheres to the natural diet of the pre-pork period.” – Ambrose Bierce

Hello my freaky darlings,
I need to tell you something… I sometimes bite chunks out of soda cans; then I give the chunks away as souvenirs to my adoring fans, tied with a piece of dental floss to make a little necklace out of it. *update*
At the bottom of the patch notes for today (6/23/2008) I read the following under “General”
Performance:
A number of code changes have been made to improve client performance.
New advance video options have been added for particles. Turning down the particle settings will increase performance.
It appears that developers are listening to the complaints that fill forums and chat. Let’s hope the changes make a big difference.

“There comes a time when…the jewels cease to sparkle, the gold looses its luster and World of Warcraft becomes a prison” – King Osric (sort of) “Conan the Barbarian”
This week New Attitude talks about some of the NEW men in my life!
New Attitude: Un-plausible deniability
This week New Attitude looks at what happens when developers burn down the barn and then look for a place to put the horse, and don’t give a beloved intellectual property it’s due.

New Attitude - Age of Hutzpa

“As one member of the Funcom team told us on our visit to the company’s Oslo, Norway studio, ‘For most games, their ultimate gola is to be on the cover of PC Gamer. But in this case, it is PC Gamer that should feel privileged to have Age of Conan on it’s cover.’” – PC Gamer Magazine
